Mauricio is suspected to be on the autism spectrum following a neurology evaluation. With daycare support, he’s begun to show strengths—he loves colors and painting—but he struggles with play, limit setting, and has crises with crying and screaming. He is very selective with food (bananas only among fruits; vegetables only in soup), does not self-feed, and still wears diapers. At home he’s hyperactive and throws objects, which is difficult for his parents to manage; his father, Gualberto (38), is still processing the diagnosis. The family faces safety and financial stress from his father’s daily motorcycle commute to Santa Cruz and the added care needs of their 16‑month‑old daughter, Natalia. Continued daycare, parent coaching, and behavioral/feeding therapy are priorities to support Mauricio’s progress and family stability.
