Erick

<  BACK TO PATIENTS

Erick Andres was born full term and reached his early milestones slowly, sitting at 18 months, walking at 26 months, and speaking at age 3. His family initially attributed his delayed development to being the only grandchild. At age 10, Erick began having seizures and was diagnosed with autism. He was hospitalized in July 2025 for uncontrolled seizures. Erick lives with his mother, stepfather, and two sisters; his father abandoned the family when Erick was 3. His grandparents are afraid to care for him due to his seizures, and his mother needs significant support. Erick attends regular school but not every day because of his seizures. The Rosa Vera Fund will help confirm his autism diagnosis at ACAI, consult with a neurologist for his epilepsy, connect him with special education services, provide monthly home visits, assist with obtaining a disability card, and offer family support so that Erick can safely be cared for by other adults and attend school regularly.
