Initially, Aaron seemed to be a normal baby until his mother noticed that he was late to walk and then to talk. He soon began having seizures, which exacerbated his speech and learning delays. Fortunately, Aaron was referred to the Rosa Vera Fund; we took him on as a patient, and he now gets proper seizure medication as well as speech therapy and special education classes. Aaron lives with his mother and grandmother and is thriving.

It is very difficult raising a child with special needs in Bolivia because of the discrimination that exists, so the help and support we get from the Rosa Vera Fund are like a gift from heaven.
