Guadalupe’s Story: Training, Employment & a Living Wage

Guadalupe became an RVF-supported Community Health Worker (CHW) in 2006. Although Guadalupe was immediately recognized as highly intelligent and motivated, she did not have any formal training.

Rather, she learned the skills of community health the hardest yet most effective way – by going house-to-house to deliver preventive care in the form of immunizations, vitamins and weight checks, and and basic health education.

I know and care about these children as much as anyone, and I am proud to be a member of the RVF care team for so long.
