Rosa Vera Fund supporter AJ Khaw hosted a wonderfully intimate and successful fundraiser, which included a slideshow of RVF's work in Bolivia and an in-depth discussion by the 7 pediatricians present (including RVF Founder Jonathan Melk, RVF Chief Medical Officer Darlene Ray, and RVF volunteer pediatrician Lisa Hunt). The evening included a piano performance by AJ, a talented musician.

The Brooklyn Wine Exchange donated food, drink, locale and expertise to an evening class on the wines and cheeses of Latin America. Guests sampled four different wines and a champagne while learning about RVF's important work from Drs. Melk, Ray and Hunt.

Jaemin Kim and Howard Goldwasser welcomed a crowd of friends into their lovely home for delicious drinks and food. The attentive guests peppered the doctors with post-slideshow questions, and gave generously, helping move the RVF toward our fundraising goal.

Drs. Melk, Ray and Hunt met with the RVF Board of Directors for the first annual Board Retreat. The all-day event included in-depth presentations on RVF patients, community health workers and scholarship recipients, as well as discussions of the mission statement, communications and fundraising strategy, and budget going forward. It was a fascinating and informative day for all. The exciting news, shared at all the events of the week, is the upcoming groundbreaking for a school/therapy center that RVF and CSRA are building in Montero, made possible by donations in memory of Joseph Andriola, and by The Gould Foundation.
